Game Designer

My passion for getting into the game industry started at a young age. I’ve played many games on many platforms, from the Playstation to the Nintendo DS to PC. As a teenager, I decided I wanted to design rules, worlds, characters and more and wanted to become a game designer. Now, at the cusp of leaving university, I have knowledge in design and programming. And it’s fair to say that the books pictured above are a large portion of my higher level design knowledge.

Scott Rogers’ 2014 book, ‘Level Up Second Edition’ and Colleen Macklin & John Sharp’s 2016 book, ‘Games, Design and Play’ are fantastic books on making game design documentation, approaching game design in a professional capacity and looking at a different angle for making new and creatively designed games.

Below are some examples of work I have done as an enthusiastic hobbyist designer, such as Game Design Documents, One Sheets and other miscellaneous design notes that show off my skills as a designer.
